Active Mode (100% power consumption)
The hard drive is at "Read/Write" mode, and it is under full speed operation.
Idle Mode (80% power consumption)

The hard drive is under "Waiting" mode (waiting for read/write commands from system), and the hard drive is still working. At this condition, the power consumption is a little less than active mode.

The hard drive is in "Suspend" mode, it is completely shut down, but still with power, the power consumption is much less than Active/Idle mode.

The hard drive is under "No Power" status. Not only the hard drive is completely shut down, but also there is no power to the hard drive. Only the control board will consumes power. The hard drive will be re-active when you need to access it again, when your computer turn on.
