This is multi function RAID hard drive enclosure for two 2.5" SATA hard drives. First, you can build your own a high performance RAID 0 (Striped two 2.5" SATA HDD) or a safety RAID 1 (Mirroring two 2.5" SATA hard drive) installed into a single 3.5" hard drive bay via SATA interface from your motherboard. Secondly, also you can build an external portable device with USB interface with RAID 0 or RAID 1 powered by two 2.5" SATA hard drives. This unit has build in hardware RAID engine, RAID configuration is done by DIP SWITCH easily.

It significantly improves the read/write performace for your desktop while RAID 0 applied or have Mirror (RAID 1) fault tolerance to secure your valueble data information.

RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across two disks in a way that gives improved speed and full capacity.

RAID 1 (mirrored disks) duplicates data across two disks in the array, providing full redundancy. Two disks each store exactly the same data, at the same time, and at all times. Data is not lost as long as one disk survives. Total capacity of the array is simply the capacity of one disk. At any given instant, each disk in the array is simply identical to every other disk in the array.
